This is an ideal trail to observe and photograph the native fauna such as grey fox, guanaco, hog nosed skunk, lesser rhea, and sometimes the elusive puma, as well as various birds including the condor, buzzard eagle, flamingo, meadow lark among many others.
Torres del Paine National Park is part of the UNESCO biosphere reserves since 1978. For this reason its great ecological value is recognized and protected. For the animals that live within the boundaries of the park it is a perfect safe heaven where their habitat is respected and the species can follow their evolutionary course.
