PATAGONIA | Torres del Paine & Villarrica National Parks
Patagonia is a a large region on the southern tip of the South American continent shared between Chile and Argentina, roughly from latitudes 41º south to 55º south, all the way to the very tip of the continent including the island of Tierra del Fuego.
The first Europeans to see this region were Ferdinand Magellan and his crew while circumnavigating the world on one of mankind’s most epic journeys of discovery in the 1521.
Nowadays, people can still have epic journeys of adventure and discovery since the region remains as one of the last frontiers of the world and large extensions of land have been designated as National Parks. Trekking is the activity of choice for most travelers and Torres del Paine and Villarrica National Parks are two of the most beautiful protected areas in Chilean Patagonia.
