Learn to rock climb by the hand of a certified instructor with more that 27 years of experience and training.
During this introductory climbing session we teach you the fundamentals of rock climbing to help you climb safely, efficiently and eventually independently. From how to properly use and take care of the equipment, how to communicate effectively with your partner on the rock climbing setting, to how to apply ethical behavior at the ever popular climbing areas.
- Your guide will contact you the day before to coordinate details such as meeting time and place and what to bring
- The day of the climbing session your guide will pick you up and give you a waiver for you to read and sign, before the 30 minute drive to the climbing area
- Once at the climbing area your guide will give each participant the climbing gear necessary for the day (harness, helmet, shoes)
- After a nice warm up hike with amazing views we arrive at the cliff base where we put our gear on
- The guide begins with the instruction and setting up the ropes
- A minimum of 3 hours of climbing practice where you will be able to enjoy the rock and apply the methods and techniques thought throughout the session in this beautiful place
- End of the session. We put away the gear and make sure to leave the area free from anything that does not belong to the natural environment before hiking back down to the car and the drive back to meeting spot in Puerto Natales
- Certified rock climbing guide and wilderness first responder
- Round trip transportation from Puerto Natales
- Professional instruction by an AMGA certified guide
- Certified equipment (helmet, harness, ropes, carabiners, shoes, etc.)
- Entrance fee to privately owned climbing area
- 20 – 60 minutes hike, 3 hours of rock climbing
- The participant must be in good physical and mental shape to hike between 1 and 7 kilometers with anywhere between 5 and 700 meters of elevation
- Read and sign the participant agreement and risk acceptance form
- Have the proper shoes and clothing for the terrain and meteorological conditions of Patagonia
- Have personal medical and travel insurance
- 1.5 liters of water and snacks
